OCR Shop XTR Lite is a powerful optical character recognition application
based on the same ScanSoft OCR technology as Vividata's OCR Shop XTR and OCR
Shop XTR/API.  OCR Shop XTR Lite provides access to a subset of the features
found in OCR Shop XTR through a straight-forward command-line interface.

OCR Shop XTR Lite recognizes documents in a fully automatic mode:

  * Detects faxes, dot-matrix prints, newsprint, and degraded documents and
    applies special filters to improve recognition.
  * Recognizes both black-on-white text and white-on-black text.
  * Automatically orients and flips images that are rotated or upside-down.
  * Corrects images that were scanned at a slight angle ("skewed" images).
  * Offers support for 56 languages:  select the language of your choice through
    a command-line option.

To download OCR Shop XTR Lite:

    OCR Shop XTR Lite is available for evaluation or if purchased from 
    Vividata's website at www.vividata.com.

    New users may register on Vividata's website for an evaluation of OCR
    Shop XTR Lite. After registration the software and an evaluation key
    will be available for download.

    Current customers should log into Vividata's website to download OCR Shop
    XTR Lite. If you already purchased or signed up for an evaluation of OCR
    Shop XTR Lite, the software is available from the Downloads page once you
    log in. If you have not yet purchased or evaluated OCR Shop XTR Lite,
    request an evaluation by logging in and clicking on "New Evaluation."
